This place always seems to appear in the annual Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide - can't understand why this place appears when some others on this cafe strip do not. This place is different to the other places here in that you order at the counter. For your first visit you can be forgiven for spending ten minutes wondering why no-one is taking your order. Without professional wait staff you might find the service a bit less warm than you're use to but the food is generally good if not outstanding.
Just browsed the latest copy of the SMH Good Food guide (2008) in a bookstore and again this cafe is the only one that gets a mention?!? I seriously think that this is a serious case of inertia by the authors/reviewers. The "longest running place open in Bronte" is not a reason to just include it in it's list every year - makes me think that their budget does not run to checking out the Bronte strip every year or there's a bit of favouritism here without giving the others a chance.
